Arabs Civilization

Dictatorship in Palestine is inescapable, A. M. Rosenthal writes an article on the 7th of May, because "Arabs have never created a democratic society or a world Islam a liberalizing movement of the issue, while Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity, Judaism and Protestantism "brought in existence democracies by the score. Mr. Rosenthal's ideas should have been answered. For all of the democracies that Christianity has apparently “created," for most of the world history Jews were far much safer living along with the Muslims instead of the Christians.

The other American Jobs Act

It's about Obama's "American Job's Act" bill vs Republican Louie Gohmert. This is at Washington D.C. It's about the "American Jobs Act" bill. September 14th, 2011. I think that Louie Guhmert doesn't want anyone to pass the "American Jobs Act" because he doesn't wnt Obama to succeed and wants to let the poor stay poor and the rich stay rich by the zeroing out the in come coporate tax. It's not fair to help the rich become richer by giving corporations more breaks, while not supporting the poor. I feel that Louie Gohmert's agenda is to make Obama's Job Act fail. If the Job Act bill does not succeed the middle class will continue to diminish.

On The Road, Obama Faces Mixed Reaction Over Jobs

Concerning the NPR article, “On The Road, Obama Faces Mixed Reaction Over Jobs,” I think there are several problems. First, no one put their name as the author of this article; they made it seem like an unbiased report of the facts, but it is important to know the author’s typical viewpoint. No reporting is truly unbiased. I would assume this writer, or team of writers, favors the Obama agenda so they are writing to help promote his position. Secondly, this article feeds into the wrong perception that the government is supposed to fix everything. I believe that the more the government tries to “fix” the economy the worse it gets. For example look at the Solyandra mess here in Fremont, a half-billion waste of so-called stimulus money squandered on politically-correct green technology, personally touted by Obama and pushed by white house staff. Should we trust Obama to spend more taxpayer’s money (actually he just creats more taxpayer debt) on his unproven, un-businesslike, politically-correct schemes? Obama has proven he knows nothing about investing in a successful business. The liberal technocrats want businessmen to succeed so they can tax them more (read “punish them for success”) and pay for their wasteful programs. Finally, this NPR article dismisses the Republican solutions and doesn’t give them a balanced hearing. The unknown authors have a strong pro-Obama bias and probably share his ignorance about how private-sector capitalism functions. They ignore what they don’t understand.

OBAMA AND SOLYNDRA Konstantine Petrakis

The fremont solar company Solyndra filed for bankruptcy after recieving a govenment loan of $528 MILLION. The FBI raided the plant in connection with the loan. There is suspicion that Obama approved this loan for political persona gaing in the 2012 elections. Investors (also supporters and donators to Obama) would greatly benefit from this loan and in turn donate money to Obamas 2012 presidential campain. Basicaly laundering money from the national budget into his own pocket. This ofcourse is only a theory but I personaly believe something fichy is going on here.

Unconstitutional Policing in Puerto Rico

My opinion about the article is that a lot of people uses their power, in government to do whatever they want. In this article, Justice department has issued a report for the Puerto Rico Police Department. On their investigation, officers were found that they have been breaking the law. They were involved in doing a crime, corruption, and illegal searches. Also on those late years almost 2000 officers were arrested for murder, trafficking, and other crimes. Additionally 1500 were complaints about domestic violence against officers. The Justice Department had a reform recommendations but it will take long time. Finally their plan is to really remove the corrupt officers and have a well trained officers.

Republicans Are Clear Favorites in New York and Nevada Special Elections Zach Spriggs

In this article it talks about how since the first time since 1923 in New York a republican was voted a congressmen for distric 9. Historicaly in district 9 democrats outnumber republicans 3 to 1 this was a huge win and can be a preview too whats to come in the 2012 election. Republicans are leading and are favorited in both of the races right now. This is outstanding for republicans. The reason this happened is because Anthony Weiner resigned because of the mess he caused on himself. Usually a democrat would be in this spot not a republican. It seems like the republicans are going to take over. The new republican that took over the democrats spot is Bob Turner. He has a lead of 6 percentage points. I feel pretty good about this happening. I just think its good that republicans are finally up there since 1923.

Furor Over Loans to Failed Solar Firm. jacob ottoboni

The obama administration is under heavy fire for its investment in the solyndra plant. The idea is very controversial, investing in a company that is own by a member of the administration. Obama poure millions of dollars down the crapper and now the plant that was going to be a huge sucess is now filing for bankruptcy. I feel like it was a plan to help obama get re elected in 2012 that backfired completey. The administration denies the acuzations which tells me they are big fat liars! Obama Brings Jobs Bill to Hill.

Last week, President Obama and Congressional Republicans took some tenuous steps along the path of legislative peace, vowing to work together to try and tackle the country’s stubborn unemployment problem. Some hints of whether or not they can pull that off will surface this week.

Mr. Obama has said he will bring legislative language to the Hill on Monday, the underpinning of the $447 billion package of tax cuts and spending programs he described in a jobs speech to a joint session of Congress last Thursday

House Republicans, leery of their growing image problem, have said they will be more than happy to look at the president’s ideas — which include a payroll tax cut for employees and small businesses and a stimulus-like infrastructure program — but they want the costs and savings evaluated by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and an explanation of how some programs will be paid for. House Republicans would like all of his ideas to wind through the usual committee process, where their potential alternatives can also be pondered.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this article about him trying to help people who are in need for jobs is a good way to build up the economy like it used to be. Many people are unemployed in the United States which is very difficult for people; especially with a family to take care of. This article affects me because my mom and dad would tell me about the people they know that got laid off, and it's really sad/bad because most of the people can't even pay off their bills and some peoples houses get taken from them.. I'm glad the House of Republicans would take Mr. Obamas idea into consideration because that would help a lot of people in this world who are unemployed.

Fedral Government Sues Bank of America, and other banks

Bank of America along with sixteen different companies are being sued by the government due to selling billions of dollars. All over the United States several banks have gotten sued. They have sold them to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who are both agencies that buy mortgage loans and mortgage securities given to their lenders. Fannie and Freddie both had filled a lawsuit by the Finance Agency given that their mortgages were sold with false and confusing statements in their agreements. Also including other banks that were being suied had the same false agreements. The agreements had been overstated their ability to get a loan and being able to pay it all back.

Opinion: I believe that Bank of America and other banks should be sued because of the actions they have done. Always think about what you're going to do before you do something. It was a bad idea for Bank of America and other banks to be selling their money because they should have known that they could have gotten sued.

Obama Challenges Congress on Job Plan

Mixing politically moderate proposals with a punchy tone, President Obama challenged lawmakers on Thursday to “pass this jobs bill” — a blunt call on Congress to enact his $447 billion package of tax cuts and new government spending, designed to revive a stalling economy and his own political standing.Speaking to a joint session of Congress, Mr. Obama ticked off a list of measures that he emphasized had been supported by both Republicans and Democrats in the past. To keep the proposals from adding to the swelling federal deficit, Mr. Obama also said he would encourage a more ambitious target for long-term reduction of the deficit. I think we already know what made America great. What we needed tonight wasn't a campaign speech—we needed a plan, with specifics, about how to restore this nation to greatness. A specific plan about how to create jobs and return manufacturing to this country was what I was hoping for. I didn't hear a plan. All I heard was a new three word slogan. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/09/us/politics/09payroll.htmlscp=9&sq=obama%20speech&st=cse

In a New Libya, Ex-Loyalists Race to Shed Ties to Qaddafi

I think its great that the Libyans took there freedom into there own hands and have made great advances in taking power from the tyrant Qaddafi. Unfortunately, many lives have been lost in the transition to the New Libya. Qaddafi was a completely unfair Dictator and was never willing to listen to the people. In this article i read that some loyalists have converted to join the rebellion, thats good because there finally realizing that want qaddaffi did was wrong and realized that he brainwashed them as hitler did to his followers. Sadly until Qaddafi is dead, his "brainwashed" followers will continue to fight against the rebellion. Im sure glad that I live in america and can have that freedom of speech, religion, and political views.

As Wars Drag On, U.S. Interest Wanes by JACKIE NORTHAM

My opinion on this is that, it makes sense that people are losing interest because its been so long, that people probably have moved on from the war. But its also a little sad, because troops out there are fighting for their lives and less and less people each day think about them. I give a lot of support to the troops even though I don't think about them constantly. So their over their fighting for their lives while were sitting here getting bored about hereing about the war just because its not "interesting" enough. Its sort of disappointing in a way, like while soldiers already have a lot on their shoulders now they have to worry about grabbing the publics attention. I bet you they dont even try and worry about that, except it is pretty messed up. Actually, I kind of wish I knew what was going on out there, but like this article says barely anyone knows because no one pays any attention to it anymore, about 25 % do? This is really not good, this should change, I feel so bad for those troops out there.

Stop 'political circus,' Obama to tell Congress in jobs speech

President Obama will call on Congress on Thursday night to act immediately on his American Jobs Act, a set of proposals he says have had both Republican and Democratic support in the past.
After a bruising summer marked by the discordant debt-ceiling negotiations, the president will use his speech to appeal for cooperation, declaring that there is "nothing controversial" about the ideas he's putting forward that should keep lawmakers from advancing it.
"The people of this country work hard to meet their responsibilities. The question tonight is whether we'll meet ours," Obama will say, according to excerpts of his address released by the White House.
"The question is whether, in the face of an ongoing national crisis, we can stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy; whether we can restore some of the fairness and security that has defined this nation since our beginning."
Obama's plan, he will say, will "create more jobs for construction workers, more jobs for teachers, more jobs for veterans, and more jobs for the long-term unemployed." It includes a tax break for companies that hire new workers, an extension of the payroll tax holiday to wage earners, and now to small businesses, as well.
"It will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled, and give companies confidence that if they invest and hire, there will be customers for their products and services," Obama will say. "You should pass this jobs plan right away."
Obama is to address a rare joint session of Congress at 7 p.m. Eastern time, his second such speech in addition to his annual State of the Union message. The last was two years ago this month, when he pushed for his healthcare reform plan.
At the time, Democrats controlled both chambers and had just achieved a 60-vote super-majority in the Senate. Now Republicans have a sizable advantage in the House and even in a slim minority have stymied Democratic initiatives in the Senate.
The administration, therefore, is pushing the president's plan as one with bipartisan appeal. If Congress rejects it, some of Obama's aides believe it could move the political needle in their direction. A defeated plan, they hope, could become a political trap for Republicans, allowing Obama to portray the GOP as so intent on foiling the White House that they would sabotage economic progress.
"Those of us here tonight cannot solve all of our nation’s woes. Ultimately, our recovery will be driven not by Washington, but by our businesses and our workers. But we can help. We can make a difference," Obama will say.

MY OPINION:Obama called congress to act immediately on his American Jobs Act. Saying he can stop the political crisis going on. Obama says his plan will create more jobs and have more jobs for the long term unemployed. Giving congress reasons on why to pass this act makes him seem really wanting to go forward but actions speak louder then words. With that said we have to pass it for us to see whats going to happen. That could be both good and bad. One thing I noticed is that he never said how many jobs would be created, or new federal spending. Federal funding I don’t know if he noticed or not but we are broke. If it his plan changes things he will prove people wrong and our problem may be fixed but what if it doesn’t fix our political crisis? Where does that put us? In a deeper hole that we have to dig ourselves out of. I want congress to pass it to see if it works but knowing it could not work makes me say just leave it how it is and don’t possibly add more to it.

Obama's disapproval rating hits new high

President Barack Obama's disapproval rating has reached a new high of 55% while the number of Americans who think he is a strong leader has dropped to a new low, 48%, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday.

And a familiar pattern in public opinion on Obama again asserts itself: Americans don't like his track record on major issues while they continue to like him personally. Nearly eight in 10 respondents say Obama is likeable; large majorities believe he is compassionate, hard-working, and has a vision for the country's future. Three-quarters think he fights for his beliefs.

But only 39% approve of how he is handling unemployment, and just 36% approve of the way he is handling the economy, not surprising when more than eight in 10 think the economy is in poor shape.

Opinion on Obama's economic track record is mixed, however. While fewer than one in 10 (9%) think his policies have made the economy better, about four in 10 (39%) credit them with preventing the economy from being even worse than it is today. On the other side, 37% say Obama has made economic conditions worse. Fifteen percent think his policies have had no effect.

Overall, 55% now say they disapprove of how he is handling his job as president. That's one point higher than the 54% disapproval rating he routinely hit in polls taken in July and August. Forty-three percent now say they approve of how Obama is handling his job overall. That is not an all-time low for him; he hit 42% a year ago. Six in 10 say Obama has fallen short of their expectations.: What are we waiting for?

MY RESPONSE: Iwould actually have to say that i don't know how to feel about the new statistics regarding peoples opinions. I agree that Barack Obama has great character but great character alone cannot run this country. Aside from his characteristics i believe that he has not made things worse than they were, which in my opinion is a good thing and a plus rather than a minus.

Some Democrats Are Balking at Obama's Jobs Bill

President Obama is trying as hard as he can to be re-elected in this coming up election. He realized that Republic parties would turn down his Jobs Programs most likely because he is a Democrat. Now Obama is concerned that his own party is turning against him. A lot of Democrats are dissapointed in his actions so far as a president. Senators think that there are many other laws and bills that are more important than his Job Bill and that they should get looked at first. I think that he is a good president and he is trying his best to get things done. His only delay is that the Republicans refuse to work with him.

Obamas speech to congress on jobs

JOBS,

is something 15.1 % of the population needs and the rest of the population struggle to keep. This speech will mark whether obama really can help america or is just letting americA to continue spiraling down in its self desrtuction. Obama is helping push a law that would add more jobs and help with medicare as many of the people in the usa cannot afford it. This woulld help but would this be long term fix or would this run out and then again the us willl continue its freefall and let another country surge past us as china and russia are both big powerhouses just waiting. And will the republicans stop this or in other terms veto and then we would really be in no shape eady if anything else occured.

Opinion: The New Normal For Government: parents struggle to save San Jose park

I like this article because it has to do with citizens helping out with their community! I think it's great that they are all pitching in their own part to help save The Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park. Since it is due to budget cuts that the skate park is being closed, tons of fundraisers and donations are the best solution. Councilwoman Rose Herrera did her part by receiving a three month stay of execution. Thanks to her the park will now be open until October. What the citizens of this community are doing to get the city councils attention, will hopefully save this skate park! This article inspires me to get involved with my community more. I now believe that one simple task makes a huge difference!

Perry comes under fire at the CNN/Tea Party debate

On the CNN tea party debate, Governor Rick Perry was slapped around a bit by his rivals for Republican presidential nomination. They mainly criticized him on his views on illigal immigration, social security, and his 2007 vaccination idea against papillomavirus. Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum were the ones that criticized him on the vaccination. They believed that forcing 12 year old girls should not be forced into getting vaccinations. He said that he regretted his decision, but he wanted to fight cancer. He was also criticized for trying to give education to the children of illegal immigrants. Perry had often called the social security a "Ponzi Scheme" and wrote a book on the topic called "Fed Up". Romney said that the topic was unconstitutional. They argued on this topic until they all blamed Obama for making the medicare system in the first place.

My opinion on this whole debate and making each other look bad is that they should look at the real problems in America. Instead of looking at illegal immigration, social security, and vaccinations, they should look at the unemployment rate and our country's national debt. If all they do is argue with each other, they will accomplish less than what they say that Obama is doing. From these arguments that they have been having, I think that Obama is a better choice for a president instead of people that hate each other and make themselves look like hypocrites. From what I understand of their conversation, they realy need to work on their priorities.

U.S. Government Cutting Energy Innovation in the Name of Jobs and Growth

Once again, progress towards energy efficiency and clean energy development is about to come up against a brick wall. The bill to fund the government through the end of 2011 contains cuts that will damage efforts to develop and expand the use of innovative clean energy technologies and efficiency. These cuts will reproduce U.S. Growth while reaffirming out negligence in addressing climate change. While it's true that the U.S. needs to address the ballooning deficit, it is hard to grasp how cutting there valuable programs will result in economic growth and job creation. Without federal investment or clear policy signals, clean energy technologies face a hesitant market. Without sufficient government programs to create certainty, private sector investment will be inreliable at best. As members of the U.S. congress seek to cut discretionary spending, they would be well advised to re-examine their line of thinking. Reducing spending in the areas of clean energy efficiency would have impacts both in the present and in the future of the U.S. I think that the government needs to stop making cuts toward peoples jobs an need to keep the energy efficiency. They are spending to much money on things that wouldn't make a difference if it was done or not. Some personal action that might take place because of this article is people complaining to the government or more of them getting layed off for no reason. This might affect a persons life because everyone needs a job for things to live. The cutting of energy doesn't help much either. This article may or may not encourage people to take charge in letting the government know how they feel. Democrats See Perils on Path to Health Cuts

On September 13, 2011,Obama spoke about Health Care Cuts. While Obama has signed a willingness to make Health care spending a top source of budget savings, He has NOT sent this message to Social Security. Obama spoke about trying to raise hundreds of billions of dollars in savings in Medicare and Medicaid because the people need Health coverage and jobs. This will change the economy in a positive or a negative manner by giving more money to the Government yet having less health care for us. Medicare and Medicaid account for 23 % of the Federal spending, and their growing faster than the rest of the Budget. Health care cuts need to be part of any deal, and Obama would save 480 billion in Medicare and Medicaid in 2023. Health cuts worry Health Care Providers because it comes on the top of the new Health care Laws, which reduce payments to most providers to help offset the cost of coverage to millions.

My personal opinion about this article is I disagree with cutting Health coverage. I believe that we the people need more health coverage, so that more people are not affected by being unemployed. I believe that this article was well written, and many people could use these resources that Obama was trying to talk about. We need more jobs to open up in all States, and then the economy will defiantly turn around. On a personal note, my Mother has been unemployed for over 1 year now, and has not been able to find a job. I believe that if this goes through, there will be more of a focus on the Health care rather than the little people who need jobs. The economy will turn around in time, but how long do we want to wait.?

Google Reaches $500 Million Settlement With Government

Google will pay $500 million to settle federal government charges that it has knowingly shown illegal ads for fraudulent Canadian pharmacies in the United States, the Justice Department announced on Wednesday. The federal investigation, which was first revealed in May, found that Google was aware that some Canadian pharmacies that advertised on its site failed to require a prescription for substances like the painkiller Oxycontin and the stimulant Ritalin. Google continued to accept their money and assisted the pharmacies in placing ads and improving their Web sites, according to the Justice Department.

i feel that Google doesn't care what kind of products its site is promoting as long as their site is getting the money from the companies and Google should take care of these kind of advertisement that these kinds of illegal medicine can be harmful to people. And i think the government did the right thing by charging Google $500 million . And i don't know if the fine was at least as large as the money gained? These so-called 'illegal' pharmacies exist purely because the cost of pharmaceuticals are artificially, ridiculously (and intentionally) high-priced in the U.S. If the costs were more equitable the online pharmacies could not compete. And i don't know why the government gets to keep the money ? but since they are keeping the money i hope they spend in the right way.

Perry vs Obama

Perry is saying that he wants to be the opposite of what Obama is but really it seems like they all want the same thing they just want it in different ways and they keep fighting about it. I think that if he's complaining about how Obama is dealing with his presidency, he should think about the circumstances that he was put in at the beginning of his presidency. he had a lot to deal with. he also is saying that he would be a lot better and that he would actually change things right away, but everybody that has ever run for president says that, when really it's not as easy and as fast as they say its going to happen. it all takes a lot of time. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/14/perry-sharp-contrast-needed-with-obama-in-2012/?hpt=po_bn1

Clinton: U.S. 'Deeply Regrets' Embarrassment of WikiLeaks Documents

I agree with Clinton that it is dangerous for the wrong people to have axcess to classified information. However, I don't think we should force other countries to follow our rules and have our morals. We should just mind our own business. I don't think Clinton's and Obama's partnerships should be at the center of their efforts; I think creating jobs should be. I am glad they will actually try to do something about the stolen information, especially the new security system so it won't happen again. I concur that countries should be able to have private conversations about common issues without a fear of having it heard publicly. I'm not entirely sure if we all depend on confidentiality, but I'm pretty sure we don't. The person who stole the documents must have been really stupid because he didn't think of the concequences. I totally disagree with Clinton that she and Obama are "making the world a better place" because no one can change the whole world, and shouldn't because they should respect other countries decisions. I haven't heard anything about Iran possessing nuclear weapons before until now, and so I don't know what to think about it.

Example of an article - Moon Crater Contains Usable Water, NASA Says

NASA has made a breakthrough in discovering the unexpected on the Earth's moon yesterday, October 21, 2010. Near the south pole of the moon, according to Anthony Colaprete, there are nearly 10 to 13 gallons of water that could possibly be used for any future space explorations; such as a water source for astronauts or even a checkpoint for fuel either to go back to Earth or to go to Mars. (To make fuel out of water you must separate the atoms of a water molecule to make hydrogen and oxygen, from there you can use these components as fuel). Not only did NASA find purified water on the moon but also elements like sodium, silver, calcium, magnesium, and mercury in large amounts via infrared light reflections. NASA has also found other minerals that can only exist in very cold environments that are not found on Earth.

I felt that NASA's discovery is very crucial to the scientific committee of astronomy. Since they have discovered certain minerals on the moon that can never be found on Earth, it opens up countless possible experiments on the moon. Scientists may perhaps be able to produce a new compound (that can only be made on the moon) and bring it back to Earth to improve some aspects of our daily lives. Also, another important part of this discovery is the opening up of exploration to Mars. It takes a lot of fuel and energy to escape Earth on a space shuttle and even more fuel and energy to go to Mars and come back safely. So, by making the moon a "checkpoint for fuel", astronauts can easily escape Earth, refuel on the moon, go to Mars, refuel again on the moon, and then come back home. Unfortunately, this project of taking advantage of the moon's resources must be postponed since Congress and President Obama signed "a compromise on the space agency's future" into law. Nevertheless, this discovery has a major impact on my life because I one day aspire to become an astrophysicist for NASA. It will be my dream to take part of a project of this high caliber.

Obama's push for jobs act will last months

I don' t know if it would be smart to pass this bill. Although, i don't really know clearly what Obama's plans are. I really wonder how long Obama will have this whole thing play out. He said it would take months which isn't really much help right now. Obama gave his speech in columbus, ohio today adressing a soltuion to ending job problems in our country. There were many people in attendance. This article will definately effect my life because if it works economy will get better and my parents won't have as many financial problems and money will ultimately be spent on me. This also shows that Obama is trying to do his best to clean up George W. Bush's mess. I hope he will be successful !
